Sarah Northrop is a harpist and pianist in the Upstate of South Carolina. She holds a degree in harp and piano performance from Bob Jones University where she graduated with highest honors. Sarah studied harp with Emily Waggoner and has additional study with Heather Sheen, Anita Borroughs-Price, Joyce Fankhauser, and Dr. Carrol McLaughlin.
Sarah began her musical studies with the piano at age eight. She has performed extensively as a soloist in concerts, recitals, weddings, corporate and private parties, and other events. She has orchestral experience playing in a variety of community, school and professional orchestras, including Greenville’s Young Artist’s Orchestra, the Foothills Philharmonic, the Bob Jones University Symphony Orchestra, and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Sarah was selected as category winner in Bob Jones University’s 2011 Annual Fine Arts Contest. She was the 2008-2012 recipient of the Fountain Inn Music Club’s Edna M. Rouse Scholarship. Sarah is a member of the American Harp Society and serves as an officer for the Greenville Chapter of the AHS. |
